Day 4 #BKGratitudeChallenge :: Be Specific
Witness light in nature, others or yourself today. Appreciate uniqueness.
One morning, after a sleepless night, I admired a ‘beautiful’ view. Then I took in the details. “The clouds began to turn pink and the sky pale blue. As I watched the jagged peaks turn from an ominous black to velvet green, my mood began to brighten like the scene.” I still feel grateful when I recall this moment years later.
Last week I watched a classmate swirl around the pole initiating movement from her knees. I’d never seen anything like it. I told her I felt like she was a witchy horse stirring up energy from her legs into her hips up through her body, then showering it out to us with every hair toss.
Last month after a rough day, a friend sent me a heartfelt message that felt like a luscious long distance hug. Here’s an excerpt: “I’m blessed to know you and call you my friend and siSter. You are light. You shine love. You are raw. You are open. You are honest. You are refreshing. You are a unique treasure in this lifetime.” I’ve reread it on days when I doubt my brilliance.
Increase the light and power of gratitude with specificity.
